Simply put, the people who are for this type of censorship should first visit a library or bookstore. They should first read the many articles and studies focused on how better sex education and exposure to a variety of experiences actually helps our littlest citizens develop a better understanding of the human condition as a whole and how we as a society are to work together for the common good. Many are talking about reading, writing, and other basics of education but I would argue that if they had a more broad education, maybe they wouldn't be so bigoted now.

They deserve to grow up into well-rounded individuals who can think for themselves, who value truth, diversity, equity, and justice, and who realize Virginia is better when it makes a space for all of its people. Let’s be clear, this law has the potential of eliminating discussions of race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, and how they intersect in the teaching of history, literature, and health in our schools."
