Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

No CRT

CRT is the wrong way to go. All peoples should be respected no matter their color, religion, or anything else. Certainly history should be taught correctly and all of it should be taught. Including the fact that many  of our founding fathers were slave owners, and that there were those that had religious convictions to end it. MLK fought and died so that men and women would be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Now, we have those that want to go back to judging by the color of their skin. This is insane, and wrong.  I am a direct descendant of those who were killed not because my descendants were black, but red. The point is we are all one blood, we all have the same DNA.  There is no difference between us, this is what we need to be promoting. A common ancestry to two sets of parents. Stop with the division, and stop CRT.
