We need to be focused on academics. Reading, proper grammar and mathematics. In a remote-communications-world, ability and performance are colorblind. My kids (2nd-7th grade) are friends with classmates of all colors and don't understand why any comments are being made on race in schools. I see this at the VCCS level as well as an adjunct faculty. The country is divided. Focusing on academics best serves students and the social issues can be left to politicians and social media.
