Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

Get Politics Out of the Classroom

We've already removed 2 of our 3 children from Virginia public schools. Our youngest will not be attending once old enough if this crap continues. Stop indoctrinating our kids with the notion that one race is better than another. Stop indoctrinating our kids that some mystical power of "white supremacy" rules the country. Stop indoctrinating our kids with the notion that they can magically change their sex. Stop telling our kids that math is racist. Stop telling our kids that you're only "teaching history". If this is the case then teach the complete history of slavery, which goes back to the beginning of antiquity and continues today in Africa and in human trafficking rings. Stop indoctrinating our kids to believe in your Marxism-inspired oppressor/oppressed dynamic. None of this has anything to do with education. All of this harms education and our children. None of this helps to position our children to compete in the 21st century. Stop using taxpayer money to create future foot soldiers for a political party. Get politics out of the classroom.
