Guidance Document Change: In 2021, the Virginia General Assembly passed House Bill 1904 and Senate Bill 1196, and was signed into law by Governor Northam. The law establishes new requirements to support culturally competent educators in the Commonwealth. The Guidance on Cultural Competency Training for Teachers and Other Licensed School Board Employees in Virginia Public Schools was developed for the Board to fulfill the statutory mandate to provide guidance on the minimum standards for the local training requirement.

Get back to the basics - no CRT

Our schools are failing because we are going away from teaching the basic education that schools should be concerned with such as Reading, Writing, Math... this "cultural crap" is NOT what needs to be taught at schools!  Students need to be taught the skills that will make them self-sustaining citizens in their communities.  They need to know how to earn a good income, manage their money so they don't have debt and pay their bills!  All the other "stuff" related to race, gender, sexuality, etc. does NOT need to be "taught" at schools.  We are all a people capable of achieving goals and accomplishing much if aren't weighed down with doubt of "maybe I can't do this because I'm ____fill in the political correct term______ unless I have equitable help...." We are undermining a person's true abilities when we implant in them that they are unable to achieve anything without the white man's help.  That's non-sense.  There are strong people of every color that don't need help in being truly successful.
