This mother's request to take decision making about a personal health decision away from the person(s) it affects most violates the individual liberties of our Commonwealth's teachers and staff. They sacrifice so much -- and have sacrificed so much through last year's entirely remote learning -- and, as thanks for their sacrifice, this parent now seeks to take their medical freedom from them merely to reduce the inconvenience faced by her high school daughter. The only exception she would carve out is a medical exemption, which has been granted very sparingly by various agencies and makes no account for valid, constitutionally protected religious objections. Her request is far too broad a response for the problem she seeks to solve.
