Mandates vaccines for school employees

If sufficient data indicated that those with the vaccines are immune from becoming infected with or spreading covid-19, perhaps mandating these vaccines might make sense.

If we took into consideration none of the other factors including choice over what one puts in one’s own body, freedom of religious and health choices, freedom over what we allow our children to put (or not put) into their bodies, and the newness of this vaccine, and simply looked at the data, there would still not be sufficient evidence to support vaccine mandates. However, when we add all of the other factors, it moves the idea of  mandating this vaccine into a category of huge overreach by a federal government of a free society.

Vaccines have always been seen as ‘best practice’ by some, while others have had the choice to partake. Why is this any different?  I’d also like to add the idea to this discussion that this society will begin to see a mass exodus of excellent teachers, first responders, military personnel, etc… if we begin to create a situation that forces people to go against their beliefs.

I find it highly ironic that a public school system that prides themselves in ‘tolerance’ and ‘empathy’ seem to come up empty when it comes to this issue. There is clearly no tolerance or empathy toward those whose conviction does not follow the tide of current culture. Will there be a school division anywhere in America who will stand firm for the rights of those who do not wish to get this vaccine or will we push the beauty of choice to the wayside and lose many beloved and gifted teachers?
