Stop the Mandates

I stand opposed to any Covid-19 vaccine mandate  being imposed on private citizens by any government entity at any and all levels of government. Medical choices reside with the individual or his or her parent or legal guardian. We have watched the lies and deceit from public health authorities for months now. They contradict the science and engender distrust with their ever-shifting diktats. The vaccines -- although generally low risk from a medical standpoint -- also raise many questions about  safety and efficacy. I am vaccinated, and I did it on my own volition, after much thought and research. I respect others' choices. Covid-19 is not Ebola. The mortality rate among children is low; even adults face a close to 100% chance of survival. Moreover, effective treatments are available.  The vaccinated students and employees are protected, and they risk getting nothing severe from anyone who is unvaccinated. Protect our personal liberty, and reject the petition for rulemaking. If accepted, the state authorities should respect freedom of religion and further provide for a religious exemption for the vaccine mandate.
