| Action Summary |
Executive Order No 19 (2022) directed agencies to review regulatory guidance documents in an effort to reduce regulatory burden and streamline regulatory processes. The Department of Energy’s Division of Mineral Mines reviewed regulatory guidance related to Safety and Health Regulations for Mineral Mining and found opportunities to lesson regulatory burden by eliminating references to documents incorporated by reference (DIBR). Removal of the US Department of Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement Blasting Guidance Manual, would remove 101 outdated or duplicative regulations. The code section that previously cited this document has been removed already, so this will ensure that the DIBR section is reflective of current regulation. |
