Action:
American National Standard for Wire Rope for Miners DIBR Removal
Action 6914
General Information
| Action Summary |
Executive Order No 19 (2022) directed agencies to review regulatory guidance documents in an effort to reduce regulatory burden and streamline regulatory processes. The Department of Energy’s Division of Mineral Mines reviewed regulatory guidance related to Safety and Health Regulations for Mineral Mining and found opportunities to lesson regulatory burden by eliminating references to documents incorporated by reference (DIBR). Removal of the American National Standard for Wire Rope for Miners, will remove 33 duplicative regulations—that are addressed elsewhere in code (4VAC25-40-360). The updated language would require compliance with national recognized standards which includes ANSI, MSHA, OSHA, and manufacturer’s specifications. This change would reduce regulatory burden, through providing alternative pathways for compliance. |
