| Action Summary |
The Virginia Racing Commission plans to amend its current regulation concerning the permitted dosage of
furosemide (Lasix) for racehorses on race day. This change will raise the maximum permissible dose from 6.0
mL (300 mg) to 10.0 mL (500 mg), bringing Virginia into alignment with the national industry standard
adopted by nearly all U.S. racing jurisdictions and codified in the Association of Racing Commissioners
International (ARCI) model rules. |
