 Petitioner's Request
To amend regulations for licensure by endorsement to allow soical workers from other jurisdictions to provide "verification of active practice in another jurisdicition for 36 out of the past 60 months;" or verification of active practice in another jurisdiction for 36 months at any time, plus verification that the applicant has completed 30 contact hours of continuing education in the 12 months preceding the application for licensure.
 Agency Plan
  In accordance with Virginia law, the petition was filed with the Register of Regulations and will be published on May 7, 2102 with a request for comment to be received until June 1, 2012.  The petition is also be posted for comment on the Virginia Regulatory Townhall at www.townhall.virginia.gov. At the next meeting held after the close of the comment period, scheduled for July 20, 2012, the Board of Social Work will consider the petition and any comment received to decide whether or not to initiate the rule-making process. Should the Board decide to respond by initiating regulatory action, the regulatory process typically takes at least 24 months to complete.
