Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 and Chapter 14 28.2-1400 of the Code of Virginia, that the Northumberland County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing in the Sheriff’s Office at 195 Judicial Place in Heathsville, Virginia, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, commencing at 5:00 P.M., to consider the following application for wetland and/or coastal primary sand dune and beach permits:

1. Request by R. Bingham Jones (V.M.R.C. #26-1776) to install/repair 25 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of the Potomac River and Tax Map Parcel # 29-(1)-224-E on Lighthouse View Drive.
2. Request by R. Bingham Jones (V.M.R.C. #26-1777) to install 185 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of the Little Wicomico River and Tax Map Parcel # 29-D(1)-12 on Osprey Way.
3. Request by Laura Morgan & Douglas Williams (V.M.R.C. #26-1766) to install 145 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of Harveys Creek and Tax Map Parcel # 44-(6)-35 on Harding Road.
4. Request by Elizabeth A. Stokes & Cheryl Boltz (V.M.R.C. #26-1879) to construct 40 linear feet of timber bulkhead along the shoreline of Snows Cove and 272 Highland Point Road.

All written comments should be received by the Building and Zoning office prior to the meeting.  Comments must be mailed, faxed to (804) 580-8082 or e-mailed to pmarston@co.northumberland.va.us . Interested members of the public will be able to participate in the meeting physically and through electronic means (telephonic).
