King George Couuty Wetlands Board Required Notice

Notice is hereby given that the following public hearings will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at 6:30 PM or as soon thereafter as possible in the Boardroom of the Revcrcomb Building located at 10459 Courthouse Drive, King George, VA, 22485, where the Wetlands Board of the County of King George may or may not take action on the following:

1.  James Blackburu [applicant and owuer) to reconstruct eight existing timber groins, permit an existing residential dock and boat slip, and stabilize existing failing riverbank at 18003 Osprey Road, King George, VA 22485 contiguous to the Potomac River. VMRC #2026-0964

2.  Dept. of the Navy PWD South Potomac [applicant and owner) to construct shoreline stabilization for Naval Support Facility Dahlgren adjacent to Small Caliber Drive, Dahlgren, VA 22448 contiguous to Gambo Creek, a tributary of Upper Machodoc Creek. VMRC #2025-1253

Questions concerning these public hearings may be directed to the Community Development Department at 540-775-7111. All interested persons may appear and present their opinions at the above time and place.  If a member of the public cannot attend the hearing, comments may be submitted in writing to the King George County Community Development Department, mailed to 10459 Courthouse Drive, Suite 104-, King George, VA 22485, or by email to  comdevelopment@co.kinggeorge.state.va.us 

All written comments must be received before 2:00 P.M. the day prior to the hearing. Copies of applications, proposed resolutions, and staff reports may be viewed approximately one week prior to the hearings in the Kiug George County Community Development Department during regular business hours or at

Anyone needing assistance or accommodation under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act should call the County Administrator's Office at 540-775-9181 at least 24 hours in advance of the hearing. If a meeting cannot be held due to inclement weather, the meeting will be held on the next business day that the King George County offices are open.
