CITY OF POQUOSON
PUBLIC HEARING
The Wetlands Board of the City of Poquoson will hold a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 15, 2026 at Council Chambers located at 500 City Hall Ave to consider the following:
1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 34 Article IV of the Poquoson City Code, a substantial
violation of the Poquoson Wetlands Ordinance has occurred at the properties of Brian Almond
located at 52, 54, 56, 58, and 60 N. Lawson Rd, Tax Map Parcels 21-06-00-0005, 21-06-00-
0004, 21-06-00-0003, 21-06-00-0002, and 21-06-00-0001 respectively, all zoned R-1
(Residential). Violations include herbicide and cutting practices applied to tidal wetlands
vegetation within the jurisdiction of the Poquoson Wetlands Board and unauthorized tidal
wetlands vegetation impacts along the shoreline of Bennett’s Creek.
Group inspections will commence at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The group will be meeting
the parking lot of City Hall.
Specific details of these requests are available for public review in the Community Development
Department, 500 City Hall Avenue, Poquoson, Virginia, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. Public comments are invited.
