NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – Pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby given to all interested parties that the Lancaster County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing for the following Wetlands Board actions:
- R. Gordon Smith, c/o SalTerra Solutions, LLC, PO Box 1744, Kilmarnock, VA 22482; requests permission to install 73 linear ft of rip rap revetment along the eroding sand/gravel roadway (55 ft) and the tidal pond (18 ft) off of Carter Creek. Located off VSH 637 (James Wharf Rd) on Crab Point Rd. Tax Map #33-471. VMRC #25-0626.
- Keith Kelhbeck, c/o SalTerra Solutions, LLC, PO Box 1744, Kilmarnock, VA 22482; requests permission to install 74 linear feet of timber groin extending from the shoreline of the Rappahannock River. Located off Brightwaters Dr which is off VSH 695 (Windmill Point Rd) on Winona Dr. Tax Map #40-18. VMRC #25-0772.
- West Irvington, LLC & P1002, LLC, c/o Bryan McDearmon, Mac Bros, LLC, 388 Scoggins Creek Trail, Hartfield, VA 23071; requests permission to install 150 ft of rip rap revetment and a living shoreline consisting of 115 ft of rock sill with 123 cubic yards of clean sand fill and with 1,1760 sq ft of wetlands vegetation plantings, along the shoreline of Carter Creek. Located off VSH 634 (King Carter Dr) on Carters Creek Rd. Tax Map #s 33-254 & 33-255. VMRC #25-0594.
- Vincent & Renae Paladino, c/o Jeff Corbin, Davey Resource Group, Inc. dba Native Shorelines, 1892 Fairground Rd, Maidens, VA 23102; requests permission to install 84 linear ft of sill and 9 linear ft of return for a total 93 ft of living shoreline with 66 cubic yards of clean sand fill and 755 sq ft of wetlands plantings along the shoreline of Taylor Creek. Located off VSH 630 (Taylors Creek Rd) on Peake Rd. Tax Map #27-55C. VMRC #25-0805.
- The Huntons Association, Inc. (c/o Ellen Huddy), c/o SalTerra Solutions, LLC, PO Box 1744, Kilmarnock, VA 22482; requests permission to replace existing 180 ft of community pier and 16 ft x 10 ft “L” end with 180 ft of community pier and a 20 ft x 20 ft “L” end on the Western Branch of the Corrotoman River. Located off VSH 624 (Western Branch Rd) on Huntons Ln. Tax Map #20H-1-18. VMRC #25-0987.
The public hearing will convene at 9:30 a.m. on June 12, 2025 in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room. Interested members of the public will be able to participate in the meeting from their computer, tablet, smartphone, regular phone or in person. The weblink, phone number and access code will be published on the County website, www.lancova.com at least three days prior to the meeting as required.
Wetlands Board members will inspect sites on June 10, 2025 sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Information on the above actions is on file in the Building/Land Use Office at the County Administration Office. All interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to be heard and are requested to submit a concise written statement prior to the meeting to the Planning and Land Use Office at 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, VA 22503, faxed to (804) 462-0031 or email ohall@lancova.com.
