NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – Pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 of the Code of Virginia, notice is hereby given to all interested parties that the Lancaster County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing for the following Wetlands Board actions:
1. Francis J. Sanzone, III., c/o Joseph Scott, SalTerra Solutions LLC, P.O. Box 1744, Kilmarnock, VA; requests permission to install 275’ of rip rap revetment along the eroding shoreline of Dead and Bones Cove off Carter Creek. Located off VSH 632 (Johns Neck Rd) on Kellum Dr. Tax Map #27-146B. VMRC #2025-0135.
2. Edward & Ada Cosby, c/o Craig Palubinski, Bayshore Design, LLC, 8518 Cople Hwy, Hague, VA 22469; requests permission to construct 120’, 220’and 120’ armor stone breakwaters, with 800 cubic yards of beach nourishment and 8,400 sq ft of wetlands/beach vegetation plantings along the Eastern Branch of the Corrotoman River. Located off VSH 604 (Merry Point Rd) on West Point Rd. Tax Map #26-150. VMRC #2024-2928.
3. Edward Leonard, c/o Joseph Scott, SalTerra Solutions LLC, P.O. Box 1744, Kilmarnock, VA; requests permission to install 87’ of rip rap revetment along the eroding shoreline of the Western Branch of the Corrotoman River. Located off VSH 665 (Sullavans Rd) on Corrotoman Dr. Tax Map #20D-4-523 & 20D-4-524. VMRC #2024-2883
4. The public hearing will convene at 9:30 a.m. on February 13, 2025 in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room. Interested members of the public will be able to participate in the meeting from their computer, tablet, smartphone, regular phone or in person. Wetlands Board members will inspect sites on February 11, 2025 sometime between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Information on the above actions is on file in the Building/Land Use Office at the County Administration Office. All interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to be heard and are requested to submit a concise written statement prior to the meeting to the Planning and Land Use Office at 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, VA 22503, faxed to (804) 462-5081 or email ohall@lancova.com.
