Board of Health,
As a woman in Virginia, I feel strongly that it is important to have abortion clinic standards that are of the highest quality in order to protect women. Too many times we have seen studies, health records, and atrocities such as Kermit Gosnells clinic that prove that clinics need to be held to the highest standards. There is no reason that abortion clinics should not be regulated like other ambulatory surgical centers, since they are performing surgeries, and it is imperative that Virginias women are kept safe by these standards. Even the regulations that are considered "ridiculous" by the abortion industry are necessary - for example, emergency medics must be able to bring stretchers into clinics to help women who have had complications. If abortion clinics really care more about womens health than their own bottom line, they will make these changes. I am offended that the abortion industry thinks that I as a woman will buy into their lies and think that these measures are not necessary to protect womens health, but it seems to me that they care more about how much money they are making than about my own health. Please support Virginia women and do what is right by continuing the regulations on abortion clinics. The lives of many women may depend on it. Rachael
