Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |

When we go to a doctor's office or outpatient-surgery facility of any kind, we expect the facility to be an environment that meets basic standards of health and safety, that the staff is well trained, the equipment is sterilized and that the examining room is clean.
Knowing that public health officials have recently inspected Virginia's abortion centers and found so many grievous violations, shows a complete disregard for the health of the women who come to them.
I strongly support the current regulations on abortion centers approved overwhelmingly by the Board of Health. These regulations should be made permanent and continue to include the strongest standards.
The current regulations are reasonable, common-sense measures to ensure that life-saving equipment is on hand, infections are prevented, and clear written policies and building guidelines are in place. Please maintain strong permanent abortion facility regulations to protect the health and safety of women.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
