I am writing to express my wholehearted opposition to the proposed TRAP regulations. The proposed regulations have nothing to do with evidence-based science, which has found medical abortion to be one of the safest medical procedures, and everything to do with trying to prevent women from affording and getting safe and legal first trimester abortions. It seems clear that the idea behind these regulations is to put abortion providers out of business in this state, leaving women, especially vulnerable groups of women, unable to control their own lives and bodies in a way they see fit. These unnecessary and burdensome laws are trying to restrict healthcare options for all women. We need more healthcare options available, not less. I think, as a result, that these regulations should be amended to be based solely on medical and scientific concerns, not someone's ideology. Please do so immediately, and stop threatening the future of healthcare for women in this state.
