All surgery involves some risk.  Abortion is surgery.  Women deserve better than unregulated surgical abortion facilities.  These common sense health and safety regulations save lives.  As a former malpractice attorney I have seen many cases of women injured and killed by legal abortion in facilities that were unsafe and unsanitary.  Virginia must and can do better.  These regulations protect women.  What is unregulated quickly becomes unscrupulous and unhygienic.

Think  about it.  If there were such a thing as walk-in prostrate surgical centers, do you think for a moment that men would settle for surgery in an unregulated environment  or one where the industry which financially profits from them is trusted to self-regulate? I don't think so!  Women deserve better!

These common sense clinic regulations are needed and they are pro-woman.  Please make them permanent!
