I respectfully ask the Board of Health to put a stop to the TARP regulations that could effectively close women's health centers & reduce or eliminate patient access to health care. The requirements for clinic buildings are burdensome & unrelated to the services provided. They also do not have any proven medical benefit. The regulations threaten the continued availability of safe, legal first-trimester abortion and preventive reproductive health care across the state. Health care costs will go up for those least able to afford it. Women's health centers have excellent safety records & high standards of care. Please amend the regulations so that they are based purely on medicine & science so that they do not impede women's access to essential health care.
Thank you, Alicia Jahsmann, Rockbridge Baths, VA
