Why do you need to show sexually explicit material to children?

So it's great that you have to notify a parent that you have sexually explicit material in your curriculum, and that if the parent doesn't want a teacher showing sexually explicit material to kids, that the teacher will provide non sexually explicit material instead.

But I have to wonder, why sexually explicit material is provided in the first place when non sexually explicit material exists?

Are you people perverts? Thats rhetorical. Of course you are.
