Action | Regulations for Licensure of Abortion Facilities |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 3/29/2013 |
As more and more results from clinic inspections become public knowledge, the need for regulations is clearer and clearer. Politics aside, medical facilities must be aware of the spread of blood born pathogens and must practice basic medical cleanliness practices. Inspections show that these practices are not being followed in many abortion facilities. Obviously, without regulations in place, safety practices and patient health will continue to be compromised.
Regulations seem to represent a common sense approach to assuring that a safe environment exists.
