Governor, please do not pull Virginia out of the RGGI!! The Commonwealth has the potential to become a national leader in the Offshore Wind Energy field. The program being implemented off the Virginia Beach coast will help ensure that the Commonwealth can generate the energy we require in a cheaper and more sustainable form. In addition to the climactic benefits, Wind Energy has the potential to bring thousands of good paying jobs to our region. We are also very susceptible to the effects of coastal storms and flooding events. We must do all we can to slow down the catastrophic effects of climate change that will result in future injuries and fatalities as well as the potential for widespread damage to homes and businesses. We have a moral responsibility to do all we can to leave the world a better place for our children and future generations.
