This regulation will be repealed. The regulations governing professional development are not current and are in conflict with other regulatory chapters concerning professional development. The statutory authority for this chapter was derived from Chapter 13.1 of The Standards of Quality, which was repealed by Acts of the Assembly 1988, cc. 645, 682.
8VAC20-450 was promulgated during a time governed by a different version of both the Standards of Quality (currently Chapter 13.2 of Title 22.1 of the Code of Virginia) and the Licensure Regulations for School Personnel (currently 8VAC20-23), and it is no longer relevant to the current structure of professional development necessary for license renewal.
