General Information
Action Summary |
The Board of Housing and Community Development is in the process of amending the Enterprise Zone Program Regulations to correspond to changes made during the 2000 session of the General Assembly. The changes indicated in the enclosed Enterprise Zone Program Regulations are identical to those changes made by the General Assembly in Senate Bills 281 and 374.
In Senate Bill 281, each participating locality in a joint enterprise zone can have up to one noncontiguous area. Senate Bill 374 increases the number of enterprise zones from 55 to 60. The five newly designated enterprise zones would have to be located in localities that had a 1999 annual unemployment rate that was 50% higher than the state's 1999 annual unemployment rate.
