Action 6674

General Information
Action Summary Chapter 595 (SB 403) of the 2024 Acts of Assembly directed DBHDS to amend the Licensing Regulations governing qualified mental health professionals (QMHPs) and QMHP-trainees (-Ts), to align staffing and supervision requirements with competency and qualification standards adopted by the Department of Health Professions’ Board of Counseling. The legislation also collapses the terms for QMHP-adult (-As) and QMHP-child (-Cs) into the meeting of QMHP. Specifically, the non-discretionary changes increase the qualification standards for a QMHP to supervise by adding prerequisite requirements (three years experience and completion of DHP supervisor training).
