Action Summary | Chapter 595 (SB 403) of the 2024 Acts of Assembly directed DBHDS to amend the Licensing Regulations governing qualified mental health professionals (QMHPs) and QMHP-trainees (-Ts), to align staffing and supervision requirements with competency and qualification standards adopted by the Department of Health Professions’ Board of Counseling. The legislation also collapses the terms for QMHP-adult (-As) and QMHP-child (-Cs) into the meeting of QMHP. Specifically, the non-discretionary changes increase the qualification standards for a QMHP to supervise by adding prerequisite requirements (three years experience and completion of DHP supervisor training). |
