As a parent of a child on the CCC+ waiver, I’ve personally experienced the grueling process of submitting overwhelming documentation to support The Objective Written Documentation Form. The endless paperwork, the uncertainty of approval, and the emotional toll it took on my family were incredibly difficult. The current proposed amendments, like HB909/SB488, threaten to revert to a process that imposes these unnecessary burdens on parents, all while ignoring the critical role of a Legally Responsible Individual (LRI) as the child’s primary caregiver. These changes could potentially harm families like mine by reintroducing an exhausting, time-consuming process that doesn't adequately consider the specific, immediate needs of the child.
