OWD - NO good

The option for LRIs to be paid caregivers has been a crucial development for our child, offering him stability in his care and reducing his exposure to unfamiliar and frequently changing caregivers. We no longer have to share sensitive details about his diagnosis with strangers, hoping they will be understanding or non-judgmental. We ask that Objective Written Documentation be removed while continuing to allow LRIs to serve as paid caregivers without needing to justify the difficulty of finding caregivers willing to work for low wages and no benefits. Providing respite for unpaid LRIs would offer significant relief to families, allowing them to occasionally step away when short-term care is available.
