wages

in the state of Wisconsin, personal care attendant aides get paid close to $39 an hour to take care of a kid with needs. This makes the $11 to 14 an hour look shameful and it explains why we can't get attendants. why work at $14 an hour when you can get $19 an hour at target and not have to worry about providing care to a person who has extreme needs. RN's should be getting paid more than $35 an hour. If we had comparable wages we would get good staff who wouldn't leave. we would be able to get qualified staff who would know how to work with people with disabilities. we are still lacking mental health experienced staff.
