Regarding Confederate monument removal

Ladies and Gentlemen:  I think you ought to consider the importance of tourism in your area.  Manyof us come from out of town to see all these monuments.  Our Confederate heritage is widespread from what it was in 1865.  It is a measure of some pride that my ancestors took their stand withthe Confederacy.  Contemporary times and polkitical correctness not withstanding, we descendents value all our histories.  Not just the ones that meet a politicized approval.  Please consider what you are about to decide.  For bettter or wors, Richmond IS the heart of the Confederacy.  It is unfortunate that contemporaries find them as offensive and desired to scrub them from our collective memories.  I appeal to you.  Let them be.  Relocate.  But please do not relegate our heritage to th trash heap for a vote to satisfy the unrecegnizant of the importance of our heritage.  It was what it was.  Show it all.  Remembering those venerated icons that have captured the hearts of both friends and former foes.  Let them stand.+pe over this text and enter your comments here. You are limited to approximately 3000 words.
