Monument Avenue

Leave OUR monuments alone.  They are beautiful, they honor the sons of Virginia, they reflect our history regrdless of anyone's opinion of that history.  They are protected by federal law... confederate veterns are recognized BY LAW.  Destruction of history changes nothing except people's ability to learn from it. Destruction reflects an intolerant society, one determined to rewrite history, one determined to demonize an entire group of people.  Robert E. Lee, to make a point, was revered by both the North and the South and made many contributions to our state unrelated to his service to Virginia during the War.
