| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing convened by the Department of Environmental Quality on a draft permit to limit air pollution from Perdue Grain and Oilseed, LLC in Chesapeake. Perdue AgriBusiness LLC has applied for a permit to modify the Perdue Grain and Oilseed, LLC facility. The facility is classified as a major source of air pollution and is located at 501 Barnes Road, Chesapeake, VA 23324. The proposed project is subject to major new source review for volatile organic compounds, for which there is no increment. The maximum annual emissions of air pollutants from the facility are expected to be: VOC (473 tons/yr), PM (210.7 tons/yr), PM10 (131.5 tons/yr), PM2.5 (95.9 tons/yr), SO2 (0.3 tons/yr), NOX (25.2 tons/yr), CO (21.7 tons/yr), and H2S (4.2 tons/yr). The applicant proposes to use 873 MMscf of natural gas and 299,329 gallons of diesel for fuel per year. No adverse impact on air quality near the facility is expected from the proposed project. The public comment period on the draft permit begins on May 24, 2017 and ends on July 11, 2017. | |
