General Information
Action Summary The first amendment is a technical amendment proposing ot change 12 VAC 5-590-370 B 1 to correct a typographical error. The amendment changes "Primary Maximum Contaminant Level (PMCL)" to "Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL)." The amendment is exempt from Article 2 of the APA pursuant to 9-6.14:4.1(C)(3). The second amendment proposes to add 12 VAC 5-590-545, titled "Consumer Confidence Reports," and "Appendix O" titled "Regulated Contaminants for Consumer Confidence Reports" to Virginia's regulations protecting drinking water. Specifically, the amendment requires each community water system to mail to customers an annual report regarding the level of contaminants in the drinking water they serve. The amendment is necessary to conform Virginia regulations to the 1996 amendmenbts to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and is also exempt from Article 2 of the APA pursuant to 9-6.14:4.1(C)(4)(c).
