Guidance Document Change: Consistent with the established position of the NASW, the Board considers “conversion therapy” or “sexual orientation change efforts” to be services that have the potential to be a danger to clients, especially minors. Thus, under regulations governing practitioners licensed or registered by the Board, practicing conversion therapy/sexual orientation change efforts with minors could result in a finding of misconduct and disciplinary action against the licensee or registrant.

Ban on raparative therapy

I am against the ban on reparative therapy.  It is important that parents still have the final say in the care of their children.  It is unacceptable for a "board" to administratively impose a policy that has been addressed in the elected representative legislature of the government.  It is not just a right of parents to assist their children in their development and growth as they approach adulthood it is a responsability and any policy that serves to lessen that responsabiltiy is unacceptable.
