As everyone is concerned about the education of our children, the statues on Monument, like the slavery museum to come, are excellent education opportunities. We can’t really pick and choose which parts of history to remember - they’re all part of the big picture. Leave the statues alone and expound on their relevance in history - you can’t change history by removing reminders.
