I am writing in opposition to the removal or alteration of the Lee or other stautes on Monument Avenue.  I've never seen the statues there through African American nor northern eyes but as a Virginian whose ancestry goes back through centuries, they've never seen them through my eyes & their eyes are not more noble than mine.  Please for the sake of Virginia's history, leave them alone.  What's next the removal of all things Washington & Jefferson?
