I am in favor or ensuring that abortion is safe for women who choose to terminate the life of their unborn child. This can best be accomplished by reinstating the health and safety measures previously in place. Regulations and inspections are needed to ensure that clinics are clean, medically equipped, and staff qualified and trained properly. Exemptions should not be allowed as they threaten the safety of citizens. Clinics should be required to provide for passage of emergency personnel and equipment with wide hallways and doorways.  In the event of a live birth, regulations and practices must be in place to provide care to the infant and the immediate transfer to an appropriate facility.
