Virginia's abortion regulations do not protect patients

As a physician who trained in OB/GYN and served in public health for 30 years, I am absolutely convinced that the current regulations on abortion do NOT protect women.  Outpatient surgical and medical abortion are safe  procedures when performed in even a modest outpatient facility.  The current regulations have little to do with safety and only create obstacles for women who desire to terminate a pregnancy-  a decision any woman should be able to make.
