Abortion is bad enough, as it requires the killing of an innocent child. But this evil should not be compounded by endangering women procuring abortions through unsanitary conditions in abortion clinics and the failure to provide immediate access to hospitals in case of complications in the abortion procedures. A mother should not be subject to a de facto death penalty through medical neglect, merely because she has procured the killing of her unborn baby.
