The goal of license portability is to increase and expand access for crucial mental health care. The NCLEP's insistence on including a CACREP requirement is indicative of a power move and is not grounded in what is best for our clients but rather political gain that would result in fewer licensed providers, not more. ACA has adopted a portability plan that does not impose such a measure and represents an approach that keeps clients and practitioners at the forefront, not CACREP.
