Strongly oppose NCLEP

I strongly oppose any measure that privileges CACREP counseling graduates over other qualified persons in license portability.  I see CACREP's efforts to exclude all but CACREP graduate from professional counselor licensure as an attempt at monopoly.  The NCLEP will unnecessarily limit the portability of licensure and unfairly provide advantage to some while creating obstacles for others.  Even the American Counseling Association recommends mor einclusionary practices relative to license portability.  Here is their recommended language:

"A counselor who is licensed at the independent practice level in their home state and who has no disciplinary record shall be eligible for licensure at the independent practice level in any state or U.S. jurisdiction in which they are seeking residence. The state to which the licensed counselor is moving may require a jurisprudence examination based on the rules and procedures of that state"

Please do not approve this measure.
