While I recognize the need for qualified mental health professionals, I am concerned that adoption of the NCLEP will unduly favor CACREP graduates and function ultimately to limit patients' access to qualified providers.  There is no evidence supporting superior treatment outcomes associated with training in CACREP-accredited graduate programs.  I urge you to consider possible routes to portability that can apply to all qualified professionals so as to meet and promote the mental health needs of the community rather than privilege one among many viable training pathways.
