Regulations based on medical data

The abortion debate is, unquestionable, a difficult one for our nation and our state. However it is NOT the subject of this regulatory action, nor within the purview of the Virginia Board of Health. Instead, the Board of Health must consider medical data in determining its rules and regulations. Many, many types of invasive procedures are successfully performed at outpatient centers with lower levels of medical support than that of hospitals. The board must consider imposing only those regulations that are necessary to provide safe services based on the established expertise of doctors, other medical professionals, and legal experts.
