Dear Commonwealth of Virginia,

I support onshore wind development for the Commonwealth so please include it in the 2018 Virginia Energy Plan. 

Virginia has an opportunity to be a national leader in renewable energy Onshore wind energy is an important part of the plan. In addition to providing clean energy, onshore wind development provides significant job creation through construction. It also provides steady, long-term revenue to local counties. 

Southwest Virginia can greatly benefit from these investments—especially in communities that are experiencing economic pressures. Onshore wind resources will provide a huge financial boost that can help fund schools, roadways, emergency services, and other public amenities.

The 2018 Virginia Energy Plan should recognize the Commonwealth’s unique regional strengths and opportunities and develop a plan that benefits all Virginians.

The 2018 Virginia Energy Plan must provide a strategic vision that includes onshore wind development.
