The coastline of Virginia has been involved in American history since the Jamestown Colony. It continues today to be a cornerstone of American accomplishment as it hosts the worlds largest naval base. To even begin to think that offshore drilling and a naval base the size of the one located at Norfolk could coincide along with the commerce that Hampton Roads area experiences is ludicrous and foolish. There is no reason to sacrifice the safety of American shores. Especially not for the hunt of fossil fuels which are polluting our air and water.
