Payment for illness and forcing parents to apply for child support in order to receive subsidy.

I am a teacher in an early childhood program and I am extremely concerned that a large number of children come to the program sick because parents do not want to miss days beyond the number of days of absence approved by the subsidy program. Caring for youn children is a very difficult job. It is even more so when children are sick. often time more children get sick and even our health is at risk because parents do whatever is needed to hide symptoms and bring children to childcare. When children are ill and we send them home, parents have to pay for the absense on top of covering health expenses and missing work. This policy is not sensitive to the needs of low income families. Please change it and allow a considerable ammount of days for children to take sick leave. I think it is also important to mention that many families will be impacted by the regulation that forces them to seek child support in order to access subsidy funds. Many of these parents are victims of  domestic violence and are afraid of giving information that could put their safety at risk.
