Vote YES to Open Carry and Concealed Carry

My opinion as a hunter in Virginia is that we should have the legal right to open carry or conceal carry with our permit in the State Forest and I make the emphasis on the word State Forest. This is "our" forest as a resident of the great state of  Virginia I have a right to conduct myself in an orderly manner without destruction to the forest in which my money was used to create. During my many years as a hunter I have been attached by wild dogs, happened upon bears which thank goodness went the other way, and with my children charged by an intimidating 6 point buck in rut. The worst instance was being confronted by some very shady individuals deep in the woods which was on private property and I was carrying my trusty 45. Some of these things could have ruined my day if I were not an experienced woodsmen. Think for a moment and place an innocent family in these circumstances the outcome may have become a disaster. I also feel that all forest employees should carry a firearm in the woods in the event of an emergency situation. I certainly would not want someone to show up to save me as I am being treed by a mother bear and not have a  firearm. I am sure that statistics will show that everyday folks open carrying or conceal carrying are only doing so for defensive reasons and criminals will carry anywhere anytime that's why they are called criminals. I get up every day go to work and pay my taxes in Virginia and I expect that hard earned money to keep this a great place to live but I do not expect it to be used against me as if I were a criminal. I do expect to be able to defend my family and my friends anywhere I go to keep them save if needed and that includes the State Forest.
