I have 3 years' experience working in group homes as a caretaker for people with intellectual disabilities, both non-L'Arche communities and the L'Arche GWDC community. What sets L'Arche apart is the fact that caretakers without disabilities live in community and share homes with people with disabilities. This is something that all L'Arche members CHOOSE. And it's a choice that results in a level of care, mutuality, and respect that stands out among other group homes I have worked in or visited. Please do not remove this choice for the members of L'Arche Arlington with intellectual disabilities. Thank you.
